Today was a beautiful day. We started it off bright and early with a 5:30 A.M. wake-up. There was a minor setback as the first jeep had a mechanical issue before arriving at the park. This delayed our safari. Shortly after the jeep picked us up, we had a flat tire, which our guides fixed in a flash.

We saw nearly every type of animal in the park, starting with a small bull elephant. You’ll see from our pictures that we saw water buffalo, wart hogs, antelope, impala, bush buck, water buck, baboons and so many brightly colored birds including the great crowned crane; really a sight to behold.

The Safari was both relaxing and exciting. After arriving at the end of the journey, we headed back to Kigali for some rest.
